Это да, у меня Саурон, его образ вообще стал развиваться наверно с этого сочетания))

Саурон времен Нуменора это вообще мой личный сорт наркотика, но его так редко рисуют.
Спасибо, абсолютно прекрасно.

Amazing illustration, as per the usual routine. Masterclass in every way!

How about an illustration of the Fëanorean sacking of Nogrod during the hunt for the wayward Silmaril?

I love the macabre and the glitter of gold coming together in this piece.

With this two works I fell that I ascended), and now I can bring to life some of my ideas, which need something more expressive as distinct from my usual stile)

I feel you Elena, Turner and me have been talking about it , and we were not happy as well. But turns out they are actually intending to use the appendixes as reference material so the stories will be untold ones. This is a job opportunity for us all as well, so in the end it might be an ok thing. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know :D
I will get myself some wisky, cheers :D

Sergio, if they're hiring, I'm totally in.
Costumes, characters, backgrounds, I think we have a good possibility to influence the motion picture aesthetics in a right way.)

For sure Elena! If they have half a brain, they would have to hire you for sure!
This sort of job would suit us friends very well indeed. I will keep you posted in any news I hear about it.
Cheers

This is Sauron's greatest hour in my view. It is a replay of Melkor's darkening of Valinor, though in a lesser vein, commensurate with Sauron's lesser power just as the Numenoreans were lesser than the Elves, and Numenor lesser than Elvenhome. In conjunction with my comment on the other piece: wonderful!

Maybe but the Numenorean invasion caused a divine intervention, which didn't happen in the darkening of Valinor.

True and there's a lively debate about whether the Numenoreans became, or were on the brink of becoming, more powerful than the Eldar. But I still hold that they weren't, or weren't allowed to be; the divine intervention was requested by Manwe simply because he did not want to spill the blood of the Children, nor risk a repeat of the Kinslaying as during the Darkening of Valinor, not because the Numenoreans could not be defeated by 'conventional' means.

Good point though. Interesting to note that Sauron never once stepped foot on Valinor; he achieves his goals via secondary means, and at a distance. Conversely Melkor/Morgoth is of course very much more hands on. I don't think Sauron could take on the Eldar in Elvenhome (he could not even deceive Gil-galad and Elrond in Lindon), let alone the Valar.

Ассоциативный ряд зрителя говорит сам за себя.
Работая над образом я брала за основу маски Тутанамона, Агамемнона и искусство ацтеков.

Associative flow of viewer says it all.
Working at this image I used as a basis a masks of Tutankhamon, Agamemnon ant art of Aztec.

‘Darkness alone is worshipful, and the Lord thereof may yet make other worlds to be gifts to those that serve him, so that the increase of their power shall find no end.’ I always found it wierd people don't talk about this cult IMO it's some of Tolkien's darkest writings

Absolutely amazing! I love those colours. The gold goes perfectly with the background and the red and white are very nice points of contrast. It's a shame I can't remember this part of the book...maybe I have to reread it another thousands of times :D Or maybe the german version is wrong in this point (as in so many times).

(Oh, I have to edit this. I didn't read the title and thought it was Sauron who was forced by Melkor to sacrifice something (or better: someone). I don't now what my creepy brain was doing again :D)

It feels really wrong to say that, considering the subject matter, but this is really quite spectacularly beautiful. I'm particularly impressed by the idea of the golden mask.

Terrifying, though the black worshipers did not sacrifice of the blood, they burned the faithful.

The Akkalabêth does state "with spilling of blood and torment and great wickedness" though, so the burning only seems to have been the final step. (Yes, I have read the book way too often.)
