It is possible to say that it was my first impression of reading "Atrabeth Finrod ah Andreth", finally I decided to turn that sketch which was in my sketchbook into something more complete

glad you stopped here than, is so heart wrenching as it is. I would love to see your take one day on Aegnor and Angrod death (even though I'll probably never stop crying)

Hmmm...  Very interesting that you would draw a parallel between my "Like a Knife" sculpture and your work here... but I can see how the two of them flow out of the same well of emotion.

Ok... that's amazing.  You've given me a new way to look at both my piece and your drawing here...

Now I'm REALLY going to have to spend some time with this....   ;-)

(Thank you Elena.  You are always such a blessing!)

Thank you very much, dear friend!
When I drew the sketch for this work I did not think of anything, just cover with sketces sitting in summer cafe that come into head), only feelings, no reason)
I think now that the reason only hindering in art.  :)

Ah, took me a little bit to catch what you are saying.

Yeah, sometimes I "reason" a lot -- thinking about what I am trying to say...

Sometimes I just let the piece take me along.  My sculpture, "Like a knife" was very much like that.  Aside from some basics in proportion and form, the piece was pretty much all feeling.  I identified a lot with the clay as I was making that one.  Similar to the one, "Sometimes I Cannot Be Strong."  That one is even more abstract.

There is a place for reason too, but I think your work here certainly carries the blood of what you were feeling in the story.

Ah, thats interesting that you say about your "Like a Knife").
I think this is a one of that pieses for which existting that formes of art as the music, painting and sculpture, for convey that feelings and emotions which very complicate to express with the words, (or it will need a long novell))
I came around to your work and read a comments, a lot of people are strike, can not  fail be moved).

This my work is a sort of trying to make quintessence of a whole story:-  love, the pain of separation, the deth, a slender hope;    it was not supposed as an illustration for the battle).

It is always amazing to me how I create a piece for my own expression, but then so many other people identify with it so strongly.  Like you say, I think that is the true nature of art, to convey so much more with a single form or image, which is perhaps impossible to say with words...

Yes, I understand what you mean -- wrapping up the entire heart of the story in a single image.

Beautifully done.
